Italian Gladiator keeping busy in sports and entertainment
TOMS RIVER, NEW JERSEY – Anthony Stallone Patanella, aka The Italian Gladiator, will be featured on the runway at the Cut From A Different Cloth fashion extravaganza on September 16 in New York City.
Patanella’s career spans 20+ years, and he’s proven time and time again that he has the resilience and grit to overcome obstacles and come back stronger.
In 1999, he became a pro wrestler straight out of high school. Patanella was renowned for events including a series of 14 matches in seven days at the Middlesex County Fair.
He suffered a series of injuries outside of the ring that would have led many to retirement, but not
Patanella. After each setback, he came back stronger.
Versatile athlete and performer with big-name connections
For example, after one head injury, he returned to win the WXE boxing cruiserweight championship in 2014.
Some of Patanella’s biggest fights includes the 2008 Golden Gloves tournament as a heavyweight, and Celebrity Boxing, arranged by Sylvester Stallone’s brother, Frank.
Patanella has also fought on event cards with the late Rodney King, Jose Canseco, Lindsay Lohan’s father Michael Lohan, Danny Bonaduce of the Partridge Family, Lamar Omar, WWE Hall of Fame wrestler Brutus ‘The Barber’ Beefcake, TikTok influencer Holy God, and many others.
Over the past few years, Patanella has been involved in various events including a pillow fight with Naked Cowboy in Times Square last year for International Pillow Fight Day.
He also made his professional debut in stand up comedy in Atlantic City, New Jersey, for ACJokes.com with headliner Rev Bob Levy from The Howard Stern Show.
Fans urged to ‘fight for your dreams’
Most recently, Patanella walked the red carpet for movie debuts such as Somewhere In Queens with Ray Romano and Retribution with Liam Neeson.
Patanella has also been spending time in gladiator training at The New Jersey Steel Fighting Academy in Brick, New Jersey, where he’s been learning to fight in full armour with full contact and real weapons.
“Fight for your dreams as if they were the last battle of your life,” said Patanella.
He recently tried out for EFC Boxing in Tampa, Florida, and is awaiting confirmation of his advancement to the next event in November, and has scheduled to be at Philadelphia’s Rocky Run the same month.
Now, he’s further perfecting his style with a newly signed modelling contract with WestHaven International.
On Friday, Patanella will be featured at the Cut From A Different Cloth Model Mixer. The next day, he’ll be featured on the runway for two designers at the Cut From A Different Cloth Fashion Extravaganza.
