A superstar from arguably the world’s foremost pro wrestling nation will headline the latest SETUP Thailand showcase.
Veteran Masa Takanashi, who has wrestled in most of Japan’s biggest promotions and collected innumerable championships, is coming to Bangkok to challenge SETUP Openweight ruler Monomoth .
The champion capped one of the most meteoric rises ever seen in the sport when he dethroned Terry Diesel last year, and then retained the belt in a rematch in January.
Now, at SETUP Episode 12, he faces the biggest challenge of his young life in the form of Takanashi, who as well as being a stalwart of the Japanese scene, has been instrumental in the growth of Thai wrestling over the past decade. But while ‘The Drunken King’ is fond of Thailand and respected by Thai fans, make no mistake – this is a hostile takeover and he’s coming for the belt!
And in other title action, Paksa will defend his hardcore gold against Sunny Z, Shivam sets his sights on a third championship by challenging Baliyan Akki for the Gatoh Move Super Asia belt, and Ken Warren issues an open challenge for 24/7 honours.
